Is life with your anxious dog causing you stress?
-
Are you blaming yourself for your dog’s anxiety?
OR

Does your dog become over-excited, and difficult for you to handle?
-
Are you embarrassed by your dog jumping or nipping people?
-
Do you feel you can never get your dog enough exercise?
If you have an anxious dog, it can be heartbreaking to see some of these dog anxiety symptoms:
-
Pacing and whining
-
Startles easily
-
Jumping and nipping
-
Afraid of noises
-
Hiding under furniture or cowering
-
Hyperactivity
-
Leash pulling
-
Barking and lunging
-
Showing teeth or growling when approached
-
Difficulty settling
-
Shaking or quivering
Dogs show their anxiety in different ways.
Some look more fearful, such as cowering, shaking, or hiding. Others look hyper or aggressive, such as jumping, nipping, pacing, barking or lunging.
It’s not uncommon to see these behaviors emerge during adolescence. Many dogs end up in shelters when this happens. If we support them, and manage their world during this time, they'll move through this phase.
I’ve lived with 3 anxious, reactive, and sensitive dogs, so I understand how challenging it can be.
These dogs are my specialty, and most of my professional study and experience has been targeted at how to calm anxious dogs, and help them and their caregivers build the confidence to enjoy full life.
